Farm Fresh Eggs

We have been inspected and certified by the Ohio Department of Agriculture and approved to sell our eggs to retail stores.

We raise a small flock of chickens.  We do not ship our eggs, but can make local deliveries.  If you are interested in having our eggs delivered to you, please call 553-1422.  We deliver to the Hyde Park, Mt. Washington, Anderson and Maderia areas.

Aracuna Chicken - also known as the Easter Egg Chicken

Chicken Eggs

Our chickens are cage-free.  Very fresh eggs from free-range, healthy, well-fed chickens have deep orange yolks and a rich, complex flavor that few Americans have ever learned to associate with eggs.  Supermarket eggs may be months old by the time you eat them.

We raise our chickens as naturally as possible.  No, we do not give them organic feed because it is so expensive which would  cost you more to buy our eggs.  If you put an organic egg next to a non-organic egg, you could not tell or taste the difference.  Our chickens are not given any chemicals or hormones to increase egg production.

Our Aracuna chickens (also known as the Easter Egg Chicken) lay beautiful blue, green and pink color eggs (the shells are colored, the egg inside is the "normal" color!)  Chickens can be sporadic layers, so please check on availability before ordering.

Duck Eggs

 B & D DUCKS!
We are expanding our flock of ducks and currently have over 35 ducks!   As with our chickens, we raise our ducks as naturally as possible.  They are given no hormones or chemicals to increase egg production.  Organic feed is extremely expensive.

We have done a lot of research and chosen what we have found to be the best laying ducks.  The average duck lays eggs from March until early December.  Unfortunately, they are not the most consistent layers and often will stop laying for short periods of time during very hot weather.  So please be patient.

People who are allergic to chicken eggs can usually eat duck eggs.  Duck are excellent for baking.

We usually try to have a limited supply of duck eggs at our farmer's markets or you can buy them from us at our farm.  These eggs are no longer available at retail.
